In Los Angeles, you go big — really big — or you go home. Therefore, we don't get a light sprinkling of rain: no, we get a biblical deluge. The photo above is what North Hollywood looked like early yesterday afternoon when I had to dash out to meet a client (click to embiggen). It was like fording the Rio Grande in spots. Today, the rain started up five or six hours ago and has not ceased for a second. I am in no way comparing our rainstorms, flooding, crazy wind and tornadoes (yes, that's right) to what's happening elsewhere around the world. Just — yeesh, this city sometimes...
